Court of the Spider Queen

I've continued thinking on the forestcrawl idea and I think I'm going to write it up as a pretty basic module/dungeon. I'm going to need to think more on the specific ideas and names I'll need as well as how I want it to flow, etc.

I have the following characters in mind:

  • Queen
  • Queen Mother
  • King Consort
  • Deposed King Consort (NPC/monster write up in previous post)


Obviously, being spiders, they're matriarchal as female spiders outlive male spiders and get substantially larger.

This is going to be a lower to mid-level dungeon I expect.
I am planning on having a mix of spider behavior (burrowing and also climbing/web making), different weird spider toxin behaviors (death, paralysis, possibly petrification?).

Witches, Wizards, and Warlocks

The difference between Witches, Wizards, and Warlocks is often stated to be a matter of gender. That's not interesting. Here's an alternative split. The Witch and the Wizard will be a separate post. WARLOCKS Warlocks are mortals who gain supernatural power as a result of a Pact with a Patron. (Yes, I'm using D&D 3.5/4E/5E terminology to simplify things. Deal with it.) Hypnophage

This post brought to you by two weeks of insomnia. Hypnophage (base): Feeding form: an indistinct, human-shaped figure with waxy, opalescent skin. Resting form: a hard,opalescent plaque-like film with a waxy finish AC (base +/- HD)  HD (varies, starts at 1)  Att  pseudopod THACO & saves: as fighter The Hypnophage does not want your gold, your flesh, your blood, or your soul. It feeds on your sleep. Or rather, it feeds on your capacity to sleep in the future. It attacks and feeds using pseudopods which emerge from it's chest and stomach.
